Taking such a long break was not my intended plan. Between being sick the entire month of June (sadly, not exaggerating there at all...), learning to live with a child with severe food allergies and enjoying the month of July to the fullest....
we did something very exciting!
We bought a farm!
Yes, we bought a farm!
Forty lovely acres.
All ours in four weeks.
It comes with a house. Actually two to be correct.
One may end up being the chicken and goat house. Yes, it is that scary but could be adorable for them!
The big house blows me away. A project that someone never really finished. It has excellent bones and tons of potential.
5,500 square feet of potential.
I am already pretty sure we will get lost inside of it. At least one of the children will. If not a cat or dog...or two.
The house is so big that each bedroom has it's own full bath.
See, I told you it needed a lot of work.
The first order of business is to carefully remove the metal roof because it can be used for loafing sheds for the horse and re-roof before the weather gets bad. Then we will tackle the siding. As you can see, the brick was never finished. Since it needs to be pulled it some areas to repair damage, we are looking at ideas on partial brick, partial LP siding. After we get the outside dried in and repaired, we will move inside! I will leave that for another day.
So guess what we will be up to for the next oh say, five years?
I do see this blog changing as we move onto our next adventure...just not sure how and what will change yet.
